Wes Welker, Danny Woodhead Among Several Patriots Thankful for Family, Football on Thanksgiving FOXBORO, Mass. — The Patriots have a lot to be thankful for on the football field this season, mostly their NFL-leading 8-2 record heading into Thursday's game against the Lions.

But they're thankful for plenty away from the field, too, and they shared those thoughts in the spirit of Thanksgiving.

Wide receiver Wes Welker: Family and friends, being here and having an opportunity to play football on Thanksgiving is something I'm very thankful for.

Running back Danny Woodhead: I don’t know if there's really one thing that you can really narrow it down to. There are so many things that I'm thankful for, and that we all should be thankful for, whether it be our freedom, family. There's not really one thing, but we have so much to be thankful for. By we, I mean all people. We are truly blessed, blessed to live in this country. This time is about being thankful, but I feel like it's something we should always be thankful for. There's not just one thing, though.

Wide receiver Matthew Slater: For me as a Christian, my salvation, that’s huge. Other than that, my family. Those two things I'm very grateful for.

Cornerback Kyle Arrington: Everything, and when I say everything, I mean everything, for this great game that we play, my parents, my siblings, brother and sister, my friends, my fiancée, and just thankful to be able to wake up each day in this world. I'm thankful for everything.

Quarterback Brian Hoyer: Just to be healthy and happy, have a good family and a good team. Really, everything is going good in life right now.

Long snapper Matt Katula: I'm just thankful for my family — especially in a time like this, moving to a new city — and the support you know you're going to have. I'm just thankful that they're always there for me.

Defensive lineman Kyle Love: Everything, I couldn’t say anything different. Everything, the situation I'm in, my life, my family, my fiancée, everything is just perfect for me.

Linebacker Tracy White: Another year in the league, that’s what I'm thankful for. And being healthy, and my family is still together and alive.

Defensive lineman Myron Pryor: I'm most thankful to be in this position that God has blessed me with, blessed me with a great family, good friends and surrounded me with all-around good people. I think that’s what I'm most thankful for because I feel like if I didn’t have the people that I need in my life, I'd probably be doing something else. That’s what I'm most thankful for.

Linebacker Rob Ninkovich: Family and friends.

Linebacker Dane Fletcher: Being raised from a really good family and being surrounded by great people every day growing up in my life. Second of all, being American because we take so much advantage of what we have in the United States.

Running back Sammy Morris: Family, I think that’s always most important. No matter the situation I'm in — in football or out of football — my family is always going to be my family. That’s most important.

Punter Zoltan Mesko: My whole entire life, being healthy, having two very supporting and loving parents, and being in the position I am today.

Offensive lineman Ryan Wendenll: Having a job.

Tight end Aaron Hernandez: I'm thankful for a lot of things, but let me see. I'm thankful for being in the situation I'm in today, and to have the family and the people I have around supporting me, and the love.

Defensive lineman Gerard Warren: Family, football and friends.

Running back Fred Taylor: I'm thankful for life, my kids, my family, to be alive, my family more than anything.

Wide receiver Deion Branch: Everything, family, blessed to be living, but most of all, family and friends, having a job, everything.

Safety Patrick Chung: My family and food.

Kicker Shayne Graham: My family and the fact that I have family that we can appreciate each other and appreciate what I do, and they see everything that goes into what I do. They're always there for me no matter what. And I have really good friends.

Safety Jarrad Page: My family. That’s the biggest thing.

Running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis: I'm really thankful that I'm blessed to be in the situation that I am, to be able to go out and contribute to this team right now. That’s really one of the most important things in my life right now.

Offensive lineman Quinn Ojinnaka: My family, my wife, my son who just turned 1 on Nov. 19. My parents, my family, everybody's healthy, that’s about it.
