Which New England Sports Foe Are You Least Likely to Invite to Thanksgiving Dinner? The holidays give everyone a time to settle in with their families and closest friends, spending quality time with people they don’t get to see often enough.

But more importantly, it’s a time to watch sports.

Football fills the TV all day and night on Thanksgiving, the NBA claims Christmas Day and college football steals everyone’s attention on New Year’s Day. Clearly, we all like our families, but we’re never willing to take our eyes off sports.

That has us wondering: Which New England sports foe would you least likely invite over for Thanksgiving dinner?

There are certainly plenty of athletes to choose from, but we’ve narrowed it down to four: Kobe Bryant, Alex Rodriguez, Peyton Manning and Matt Cooke.

As one of the best Lakers to every play and having just beaten the Celtics in seven games last June, there aren’t many folks in Boston who would like to set a place at the table for Mr. Bryant … especially if he sticks out his lower jaw when he eats.

A-Rod might not have had any problem finding a seat at a dinner table in New England if the proposed trade to Boston went through before the ’04 season. As it turned out, though, he’d become a Yankee and almost instantly shift the wrath of all Red Sox fans from Derek Jeter to him. Though he’s a friend of David Ortiz, there aren’t many more people in the Commonwealth who are happy to see him.

Manning just left town last weekend, and it’s probably a good thing. While he’s probably the nicest guy on this list, he’s probably only harshly disliked in New England. For a while, it was because he garnered all the national media attention while Tom Brady and the Pats were winning all the Super Bowls. Now, it might be just because he’s so good at what he does.

Lastly, Cooke emerged from obscurity in New England to become one of the biggest villains in Boston sports history. His blind-side hit on Marc Savard in March was undeniably a dirty act meant to injure the B’s star, and Cooke succeeded on that endeavor. Savard was medically cleared to return to practice this week, but there’s no way justice could ever be served to Cooke.

It’s quite the list, but who would you least like at your Thanksgiving dinner?
