Which NFL Head Coach Will Be Fired Next? Jerry Jones' firing of Wade Phillips has opened up the floodgates for owners and general managers who have coaches currently trembling on the hot seat.

But which coach will be next to go?

Minnesota's Brad Childress, Cincinnati's Marvin Lewis and Houston's Gary Kubiak are the odds-on favorites to be unemployed in the near future.

Childress' Vikings are 3-5 and the head coach remains engulfed in a soap opera of a season thanks to the likes of Brett Favre and Randy Moss. Kubiak is likely only hanging onto his job thanks to last season's inspiring 9-7 finish. Lewis, meanwhile, has been the head coach of the Bengals since 2003 but is on pace for his worst finish in his eight seasons under the headset.

San Fransisco's Mike Singletary is in his second full season as head coach of the 49ers since being named interim head coach in 2008. Despite going 8-8 last year, the Niners were expected to be playing a lot better than their current 2-6 record indicates — especially in the weak NFC West.

Meanwhile, in the NFC South, the Panthers' John Fox is off to a 1-7 start in his ninth season at the helm. He may catch a break thanks to past success and lack of a quarterback. Chan Gaily, may be safe as well, as he inherited a struggling Bills team and likely has a couple years in a tough AFC East to prove himself.

Since starting off 6-0 to open his first season, Josh McDaniels has led the Broncos to a 4-14 record in their last 18 games. The young coach may get another year or two to get things back on track in the Rockies.
