Adrian Beltre has joined fellow free agent Felipe Lopez as the third baseman declined the arbitration offer from the Red Sox, the team announced on Tuesday.

The Red Sox still have the opportunity to negotiate a contract agreement with either free agent under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, however. There is no set deadline for such discussions.

Should Beltre or Lopez sign with another team, the Red Sox would receive two draft picks for Beltre and one for Lopez.

Boston are already slated to receive two draft picks for Victor Martinez, another Type-A agent who signed with the Detroit Tigers last week.

Potential Red Sox targets Carl Crawford and Jayson Werth also declined their arbitration offers from their respective teams, the MLB reported at the Tuesday night deadline.
