The Angels have been in some serious conversations with Scott Boras regarding free-agent third baseman Adrian Beltre, but it appears as though they have had enough.

The Angels have taken their offer off the table, according to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times. The report stresses that the door is still open for the two sides to work out a deal, however.

The Angels' offer was believed to be in the five-year, $70 million area. Boras reportedly wants either a sixth year or a higher annual salary, something along the lines of Jayson Werth's $18 million per season. ESPN's Buster Olney reported that the A's, who had their Beltre offer ignored earlier this offseason, are willing to reopen discussions.

It's a tall order, considering how poorly Beltre performed after signing his last megadeal with Seattle, so it'll be interesting to see who budges this winter.
