Marc Savard was expecting some excitement for his highly anticipated return to the ice, but he probably wasn't expecting the offense to go off for eight goals against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The eight goals ended up lending additional support to Savard's return, as the offensive cushion allowed Savard to register a few more minutes of playing time in his first game in six months. The dynamic center said it was helpful in working back to game pace.

"I think I had some good shifts," Savard told NESN's Naoko Funayama during the postgame. "I felt like I made some good plays at times … I tried to keep it short but everyone played a good game tonight so it made it that much easier."
