Kevin Curtis caught 77 passes for 1,100 yards in 2007 for the Philadelphia Eagles. Then, things took a drastic turn for the worse.
The speedster spent the next two seasons recovering from various injuries, limiting him to just 12 games in 2008 and '09. He was released by Philadelphia this past offseason, and as he was trying out for other teams, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Curtis had surgery in September, and just three months later, he has been signed by the Miami Dolphins to a one-year deal.
With deep threat Brian Hartline injured, Brandon Marshall playing at far less than 100 percent and Chad Henne compiling just 55 passing yards against New York on Sunday, the Dolphins will look to Curtis to revitalize their passing game as they look to come through on their outside shot at making the playoffs.
Curtis has 20 receiving touchdowns in his seven-year career.
