Fernando Torres Returns to Liverpool Starting Lineup After Birth of His Son

Fernando Torres will return to the starting lineup in Liverpool’s match at Newcastle United, LFC TV reports. Torres missed Liverpool’s win against Aston Villa on December 6 to attend the birth of his son.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson was upbeat about his star striker’s return to the club. “[Torres] looks like a weight has been lifted from his shoulders,” Hodgson said to the Liverpool Echo.

Liverpool is currently tied for eighth place in the Premier League at 22 points, while Newcastle is tied for 12th place at 19 points.
