Marcus Jordan is beginning to make a name for himself on the basketball court without his father's help.

The son of Michael Jordan, Marcus is emerging as a star sophomore guard at the University of Center of Florida. His Knights made a huge push onto the national scene with an upset win over the University of Florida on Monday.

Jordan played stellar defense and totaled 18 points, helping UCF improve to 6-0, while 18th-ranked Florida fell to 5-2.

"It was definitely a tournament atmosphere tonight," Jordan told the Orlando Sentinel. "We definitely wanted to create something so people start talking about us. We're trying to do something special here at UCF."

Through six games, Jordan has averaged 17 points, tops on the team.

With the way Jordan is playing, he might just start to be known as Marcus, rather than MJ's son.
