Patriots Sign Free-Agent Cornerback Chevis Jackson

The Patriots signed free-agent defensive back Chevis Jackson on Friday.

Jackson was drafted by the Falcons in the third round (68th overall) out of Louisiana State in 2008.

The defensive back played a total of 31 games for Atlanta and was released on Sept. 4. During his time with the Falcons, he started three games, recording 51 tackles, one sack and one interception, which he returned 95 yards for a touchdown against the Saints last season.

Jackson signed with the Jaguars on Oct. 18 and played two games before being released on Nov. 17.
