Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony has apparently drawn a line in the sand.
According to ESPN.com, if the Nuggets were to trade the soon-to-be free agent, Anthony would only sign a long-term extension with the New York Knicks.
Anthony can become an unrestricted free agent following the 2010-11 season, so any team trading for him will obviously want to ensure they are able to re-sign him to an extension. Of course, if the report is true, that certainly should make it more difficult for the Nuggets to unload the All-Star.
The report also points out that so far, it's been the offer from the New Jersey Nets, one centered around first-round draft pick Derrick Favors, that is the best on the table at this point.
Anthony is a Brooklyn native and his name has been connected with the Knicks since the summer. The Nuggets lost to the surging Knicks on Sunday giving New York its eighth straight win. Anthony got a standing ovation from the Madison Square Garden crowd as he was introduced prior to the game.
