Manny Pacquiao, the world's top pound-for-pound fighter, may be heading back to the ring to fight "Sugar" Shane Mosley as early as May.

According to Lem Satterfield of BoxingScene.com, a deal may be finalized for a May 7 bout at the MGM Grand by as early as this Thursday.

Sources tell Satterfield that Mosley's adviser, James Prince, met with Top Rank Promotions CEO, Bob Arum, who represents Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KOs), on Monday to work out a deal.

"We're talking to Bob Arum, but nothing is really happening as we speak right now. … Then, when it gets down to the last particulars, then I'll step in and then we'll finalize it," said Mosley, who is 46-6-1 with 39 KOs.

"All of the fingers are pointing towards me getting the deal done and making the fight," he added. "It's not a done deal yet, like I said, but it's certainly looking like it's heading in that direction."
