Free-agent outfielder Magglio Ordonez worked out for a handful of teams on Wednesday in Orlando, but it appears that the Red Sox, one of reported most interested suitors were not there.

According to a WEEI.com report, the Red Sox were not one of the teams represented to check in on the status of the 36-year-old following a 2010 season that saw him hampered by an ankle injury.

According to MLB.com's Ian Browne, however, the workout was intended to be just for the Tigers, a team reportedly looking deep into the situation. Browne claims the workout "wasn't meant as open audition."
