After adding offense and defense at the winter meetings, the Red Sox are targeting bullpen help.

According to ESPN.com’s Gordon Edes, the Red Sox are interested in a trio of former Twins: lefty Brian Fuentes and right-handers Jesse Crain and Matt Guerrier.

While Crain and Fuentes are Type B free agents, Guerrier is a Type A free agent. However, since the Twins didn’t offer arbitration, the Red Sox would not have to cough up a first-round pick if they sign him.

The 32-year-old Guerrier posted a 3.17 ERA in 74 games with Minnesota in 2010. He has a 3.38 career ERA in 393 appearances over seven seasons.

Crain, the youngest at 29, had a 3.01 ERA in 71 contests. He has a career 3.42 ERA in 376 games over seven seasons.

Fuentes, the oldest of the three at 35 years old, didn’t allow a run in his nine appearances out of the Twins’ bullpen, but in 39 contests with the Angels, the southpaw posted a 3.52 ERA. He also has pitched for the Mariners and Rockies and has a career 3.41 ERA in 551 games over 10 seasons.
