A bench-clearing brawl almost took place during the third quarter of the San Antonio Spur's 118-98 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.

A tussle resulted after Spurs center Tim Duncan threw an alley-oop pass to forward Richard Jefferson over the head of Warriors center David Lee. After hanging on the rim for a split-second, Jefferson lifted his legs up and landed on the shoulders of Lee. It was an act that looked easily avoidable.

After Jefferson slid down Lee's shoulders, the Warriors center bumped chests with the 30-year-old Spurs veteran.

If the Lee's teammates didn’t step in to break up the two players, it could have turned ugly at Oracle Arena.
