Steve Yzerman Has Done Well as New GM for Lightning, But Still Faces Tests Ahead

NHL Hall of Famer Steve Yzerman has achieved a fair amount of success so far as the general manager for the Tampa Bay Lightning, but the tests have just begun for the legendary Red Wing.

The Lightning have surged in the Eastern Conference this season, led by a few solid veterans and one red-hot scorer in Steve Stamkos, to rank second in the Southeast Division behind the Washington Capitals.

If you asked this week's lineup on The Instigators, Yzerman earns great marks so far in his tenure. According to the show's host, Mike Milbury, Tampa Bay has what it takes to become an Eastern Conference playoff contender this season.

That doesn't mean Yzerman's work is done, however. The Lightning GM still has areas where he has to prove himself as he continues to adjust to the elevated responsibility of his position.
