Top 10 Most Embarrassing New York Sports Moments of the Last Decade

New England sports fans are coming off one of the most gloat-worthy weeks — absent a world championship — in recent history.

The Patriots picked up back-to-back blowouts against the Jets and Bears, Marc Savard is fresh off his return to the ice after a six-month hiatus, and — oh yes — the Red Sox made a couple big acquisitions during the annual winter meetings.

Red Sox Nation welcomed two very exciting players into Fenway Park last week, as first baseman Adrian Gonzalez and left fielder Carl Crawford joined the Boston ranks. Sox fans were doubly treated as they watched their bitter New York rivals lose out on their offseason prize, Cliff Lee, who decided to take $35 million less than the Yankees’ offer to play in Philadelphia.

On top of all that hot-stove goodness, the New York Jets added “Tripgate” to the football dictionary.

All in all, it was a great week to be a New England fan.

But let’s not stop there. NESN.com decided to compile an entire list of embarrassing New York sports moments from just the last decade alone, just to give fans an extra boost after last week’s excitement.
