Adrian Gonzalez Plays Catch, Progressing Well in Rehab From Shoulder Surgery The Red Sox’ newest first baseman is finally feeling healthy enough to enjoy a catch with his brother

On Monday, Adrian Gonzalez got to toss a baseball with brother Edgar Gonzalez for the first time since having surgery on Oct. 20 to repair the labrum in his right shoulder, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney

The brothers tossed the ball around the Gonzalez Sports Academy outside San Diego, where Adrian has been working tirelessly to rehabilitate his right shoulder since the surgery. According to Olney, Gonzalez has seen his range of motion grow steadily, even from last week.

If the All-Star’s rehabilitation continues to proceed smoothly, Gonzalez could be taking swings by late Feburary, but there is a sense the two-time Gold Glove winner is ahead of schedule, according to the report.

Gonzalez, 28, who has power to all fields, has hit 30 or more home runs in each of the past four seasons, doing so with little protection from a weak San Diego lineup.
