FOXBORO, Mass. — Patriots head coach Bill Belichick shot down a request Wednesday to explain the team's suspension of rookie defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick.

Deaderick was suspended for unknown reasons this week, although the Boston Herald reported he has been in trouble this season for missing meetings.

Deaderick had 17 tackles (12 solo) and two sacks in 10 regular-season games. He was inactive for six games, four without being on the injury report and once each with toe and shoulder issues.

When Belichick was asked if he could explain why Deaderick was suspended, Belichick simply said, "No."

Later, Belichick said, "Whatever is between the player and the team is between the player and the team."
