Bruins Should Leap at Chance to Film '24/7' Series If Opportunity Comes Their Way If you've watched, read, or heard anything about HBO's latest 24/7 series featuring the Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins, it's probably amounted to the same reaction.

That show is awesome.

The show, similar to the summer NFL series Hard Knocks, follows the two teams leading up to the highly anticipated Bridgestone Winter Classic at Heinz Field. It covers everything from locker-room speeches, to on-ice battles, to the jovial pranks played during road trips. It even covers the team's holiday celebrations at Christmas time.

Not only are you seeing the game through the players and the coaches' eyes, but through the referees' and the fans' eyes, and everyone else in between.

Watching assorted clips of Mike Knuble talking about how many stitches he has in his face (150-200), and Marc-Andre Fleury taking all his teammates' hotel furniture out into the hallway got me thinking about how the Bruins would the perfect subject for a similar series.

Even though the Bruins' Winter Classic opportunity has already passed, the team would still be a fascinating subject for the 24/7 cameras. Following the cast of characters boasted by the Bruins' roster would be entertaining television, and with the sports-crazed city of Boston as the supporting cast, how can you go wrong?

Critics rave about what this edition of 24/7 has done for the face of hockey. It's given a heightened identity to a sport that has struggled with ratings throughout the past decade. While Boston is known as the Hub of Hockey, providing an insider look behind the black and gold mask would definitely have a positive impact on the Bruins' fan base.

At the fingertips of the genius editors at HBO, the possibilities are endless, and the legendary atmosphere of the Boston Bruins' organization would serve as the perfect focal point for their next hockey endeavor.
