Fan Forum: Marc Savard's Injury Has Been Most Influential Loss This Season The 2010-11 season has been dramatically different for the Bruins when it comes to suffering injuries, but that doesn't mean they've escaped the dreaded injury report altogether.

This season, the B's have been on the luckier side of things when it comes to injuries (knock on wood), and have only seen a few players sit out for the long term. They've also been fortunate to have some skilled players step up from the minors and really prove themselves in the pro game.

However, the B's have experienced a few side effects due to the loss of players with injuries, and no other injury has had a more significant impact than Marc Savard's.

As a four-year veteran with the Bruins' organization, Boston fans have seen what Savard is capable of when he's healthy. Three-straight years of solid numbers followed by back-to-back seasons of injury-plagued issues have left fans crying out for the playmaker they used to know.

Savard is back with a clean bill of health, and he's put up seven points in 20-games played since his return in early December. It's a start, but it looks like the center still needs time to find his stride after suffering a debilitating hit that left him battling post-concussion syndrome through the start of the 2010 season.

Losing Milan Lucic has been tough, but the B's have pushed through without their grinder on the top line. If the "undisclosed injury" persists for much longer, however, we may see the Bruins' offense suffer the consequences.
