Frank De Boer is playing hardball.

The Ajax boss reiterated to Goal.com that a midnight deadline is in place for negotiations for striker Luis Suarez, and he said he expects a much bigger offer.

"I expect [Liverpool] to come with a higher offer," De Boer said, according to the website. He added that he believes the chances of Suarez leaving are 50-50.

Suarez has been sitting out amid the extended transfer saga, but De Boer expressed confidence that the Uruguayan striker will return to the club with full motivation if a deal with Liverpool is not made.

"I am also confident that he will give everything for Ajax if the transfer falls through," De Boer told the website. "Luis is a passionate player who always plays to win."
