Rumors are swirling that Roy Hodgson's days in Liverpool are numbered, but the manager has the support of Joe Cole.

"We are all behind the manager," Cole said, according to FoxSoccer.com. "We all want to put this club in the right direction and keep working hard.

"We are out there playing for the shirt and the manager," Cole added. "We have all got to stick together because there is no one bigger than the club."

While Cole's words are on thing, his game-winning goal on Saturday against Bolton likely did more to save Hodgson. At least for now.

"We are pleased for the fans, the owners and the manager, but we have all got to stick together and kick on from here," he said. "It can't be a false dawn."

Support of Hodgson wasn't just limited to current players, as Ian Rush said on Soccer Extra, but also to the fans.

"We need to get behind him," Rush said. "I know he wasn't first choice for the supporters but he needs time. Kenny [Dalglish is] the king, so people always want him, but at the end of the day, we've got to get behind Roy Hodgson."
