Mark Sanchez Can Break Playoff Record Held by Roger Staubach, Len Dawson With Win Over Steelers Some NFL records require a lifetime of greatness and hard work, and they can be achieved through a grueling string of events with little end in sight.

Other career marks are a little more quirky. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has the chance Sunday to set one of those quirky records.

Sanchez has a 4-1 road record in the playoffs, and his four wins are tied for the most in NFL history among quarterbacks with former Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach (4-1 road record), former Chiefs quarterback Len Dawson (4-1), former Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme (4-1) and Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco (4-3).

(Side note: Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has a 3-2 record in road playoff games.)

That's some mixed company, considering that Staubach and Dawson are Hall of Famers, Delhomme has rarely been better than average, and Flacco and Sanchez have a long way to go before their legacies are determined.

The record also means a combination of things. First off, their respective teams weren’t good enough in the regular season to secure many home games, but with that, it's a testament to those teams for having the character to win on the road during the tensest time of the year.

Sanchez has already become the fastest quarterback to win four road games in NFL history, and if the Jets beat the Steelers on Sunday, he'll set a strangely impressive record.
