Former Celtic star Antoine Walker finally received some justice on Friday.
While Walker is attempting to make his comeback to the NBA, the man who was charged in the 2007 invasion of Walker’s home has finally been sentenced.
A Chicago man, Demorris Hill, 28, was sentenced to 13 years in prison after he pleaded guilty for breaking into Walker’s River North, Ill. home. Walker was bound by duct tape and shoved into a closet at gunpoint during the invasion.
Hill is also still awaiting trial for breaking into New York Knicks center Eddy Curry‘s home and a 2006 armed robbery case, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Hill and three other men – all known gang members – were charged for their parts in the invasion.
They stole jewelry, engraved watches and thousands of dollars, which were recovered in a briefcase found by the police.
Walker is from Chicago and has played in the NBA for 14 seasons with Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami and Minnesota. The three-time NBA All-Star and member of the 2006 NBA Championship-winning Miami Heat is trying to make his return to the NBA as a member of the D-League’s Idaho Stampede. Walker, who has had financial problems in the recent past, has played 17 games, averaging just under 17 points per game with a 44 percent field goal percentage with the Stampede.
