Brett Favre may have retired and un-retired three times, but only once has he actually fired official paperwork with the NFL — until Monday.

According to Fox Sports, Favre has filed his retirement paperwork with the NFL.

With the Minnesota Vikings seemingly in transition, his consecutive-starts streak done at 297 and his body ravaged, most have expected Favre to retire. He has also consistently stated that 2010 would be his 20th and final season.

Favre previously filed retirement papers on Feb. 11, 2009 after his first and only season in New York, but was reinstated by the league thereafter.
