Shortly after reportedly having a £30 million ($47.7 million) bid rejected, Liverpool has successfully upped its offer for Andy Carroll.

According to The Guardian, Liverpool has agreed to a £35m transfer fee for the striker.

With Fernando Torres likely on his way to Chelsea, according to several reports, Carroll would provide a suitable replacement. Just 22 years old, Carroll has 11 goals in 19 matches this season for Newcastle. He hasn't appeared since Dec. 28, however, after suffering a thigh injury.
