As a Liverpool supporter, Galatasaray captain Arda Turan has long been linked with a move to Anfield.

Now, the 23-year-old Turkish international may be nearing the fulfillment of that dream, as his agent has hinted at his availability this coming summer.

According to Sport.co.uk, Turan has been the subject of numerous inquiries from English and Spanish clubs during the January window, but the Turkish giants have been unwilling to sell. Their tune, however, may soon change.

“Of course there has been a lot of interest, from the Premier League and Spain, but the club do not want to sell Arda at the moment. In six months we will see,” said Turan’s agent, Ahmet Bulut.

“He has two years left on his contract. For sure, he will stay until the end of the season then after we will see. At the moment he is staying because he is the captain of the team, but then we will see.”

Arsenal and Chelsea also have interest in Galatasaray’s No. 10, but Liverpool’s chief competition for Turan will likely come from Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Redknapp pursued Turan this past summer, though his bid — which included Mexican international Giovanni Dos Santos as compensation — was rejected.

Turan is considered Turkey’s most promising talent of the generation. He can play either on the left wing or in attacking midfield and is currently valued at £14 million ($22.1 million), according to transfermarkt.co.uk.
