Steve Buckley Shows Confidence, Guts in Announcing He's Gay Any way you slice it, Steve Buckley's life is going to be different now.

The noted sports columnist for the Boston Herald announced Thursday in the newspaper that he is gay.

"It's my hope that from now on I'll be more involved," Buckley wrote. "I'm not really sure what I mean by being 'involved,' but this is a start: I'm gay."

The announcement became a discussion point on The Dennis and Callahan Show on Thursday, with Gerry Callahan believing Buckley will be getting some unfair treatment in professional locker rooms and John Dennis disagreeing vehemently.

"There are certain places that maybe the world hasn't evolved or advanced as much as others," Callahan said, and when Dennis told him the locker room is not one of those places, he replied with, "You're out of your mind."
