Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Fulham was far from the greatest 90 minutes Liverpool has ever put together, but at the end of the day, a win is a win. Despite the victory, Steven Gerrard is still unsatisfied with the team’s standing in the league table.

“We want more than seventh — seventh’s not acceptable at this club,” Gerrard told reporters after the Fulham match. “If you look where we were a couple of weeks ago, of course we’re happy being seventh, but we’ve got Stoke next and it’s important that we keep this run going and try to get another three points and move up the table even more.”

Gerrard said that the coaching change has helped turn around the team’s fortunes, but in case it wasn’t clear he reiterated the club’s work is not over yet.

“We’re not happy with seventh,” he said.
