Top 10 Reasons the Yankees Are In for Long 2011 Season The New York Yankees are in some trouble.

Sure, they have CC Sabathia, Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano and Derek Jeter, and sure, they’ll probably win more games than 75 percent of MLB teams, but in New York, success is measured in championships, not regular-season wins.

Though it’s only late January, there’s at least some reason to believe that maybe — just maybe — the Yanks could be in for a down year, not unlike the one they had waaaay back in 2008.

That year, the Yanks got 30 starts from just two pitchers and had to piece together the back end of the rotation with the likes of Sidney Ponson, Darrell Rasner and the infamous Carl Pavano. While things might be slightly better this year, there are still plenty of problems in the Bronx to leave Yanks fans worried and Red Sox fans feeling a lack of sympathy.
