According to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Mike Felger and Tony Massarotti, Pats fans should be rooting for the Jets to go all the way this year. Why? They believe that a Super Bowl win for Gang Green would light a fire in the Pats' front office and force the decision makers to push hard to acquire a game-changing Pro Bowler via trade or free agency.
Sounds crazy, but it just may be crazy enough to work. Plus, another championship in Steel City would give those Pittsburghers a valid reason to claim to be America's top sports city over Boston.
On the NFC side, it may be hard for longtime Pats fans to root for the Chicago Bears, as visions of the "Super Bowl Shuffle" are still etched in their minds. Also, it's easy for New Englanders to relate to the Packers and their old-school, blue-collar, devoted fanbase. The Pack did, however, kill New England's dreams back in '97, so there may still be some lingering pain from that.
