Surprisingly, magazines are still a highly-regarded medium for information these days, despite the instant availability of similar content on the internet.

Yahoo has decided to combine the two mediums as they launched an internet sports magazine, called “The Post Game,” on Tuesday.

“The Post Game” will further analyze and argue today’s popular topics within the sports world. The first edition had a few New England ties, with a story about Tom Brady‘s guru, and a one-on-one interview with Massachusetts-native and actress Elizabeth Banks.

The website combines not only in-depth pieces about today’s hottest sports topics, but also contains photos, polls and facts. It’s attempting to seamlessly combine the coverage of a magazine with the edge and up-to-date qualities of the internet.

“In a world where information is available instantaneously on every device, the delivery of editorial through print magazines has become anachronistic,” website founder David Katz wrote to the site’s new readers. “Yet their original purpose, and their quality content, remain relevant. ThePostGame.com is our attempt to re-architect the sports magazine for the Internet generation.”
