Both ESPN's Mel Kiper and NESN's Jeff Howe constructed NFL Mock Drafts, and both came to one conclusion. The Patriots will select California defensive lineman Cameron Jordan 17th overall.
Accordingly, at the NFL combine in Indianapolis on Saturday, he revealed his interest in the Patriots.
"I've talked to a plethora of teams, and it's been pleasing just having the experience of talking to them," Jordan said, according to WEEI.com. "The Patriots are a phenomenal team. I feel like they're one of the good teams in the NFL. I'd just like to be part of [any] team."
Jordan, at 6-foot-4 and 287 pounds, has the physique to play either defensive end or outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme. If he adds weight, he could be joining Vince Wilfork on the front line.
"If I'm seen more as a three-technique, I have to add some weight. Depending on whether I'm a defensive end or not, I might have to add or gain or lose or stay," Jordan said. "I've gained weight. I've been up around 295 at my heaviest, and then I came into college at 265. I've played through different weights."
