With the Maple Leafs in town and trade rumors swirling, it felt as if the Bruins were ready to make a move. They did — it just wasn't a a deal that was on anyone's radar.

Following the Bruins' 4-3 loss to the Maple Leafs, the Bruins announced that they had acquired Chris Kelly from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Boston's second-round draft pick in the 2011 draft.

While Kelly may not be the same type of player as the recently traded Mike Fisher, Kelly should give the Bruins some depth down the middle. In 56 games with the Sens this season, Kelly has 23 points on 12 goals and 11 assists.

Kelly is signed through 2011-12 and comes with a salary cap hit just above $2 million.
