Top 10 Draft Prospects for Patriots Include Clemson Defensive End Da'Quan Bowers If the Patriots could have any single player in April’s NFL draft, who would they target? Obviously, they’re not living in a fantasy world, but with two picks in each of the first three rounds, the Patriots are equipped to do whatever they want in April.

After the completion of the Senior Bowl, the prospect projections are starting to take shape, and there’s a really good group of players who will be available in the top two-thirds of the first round. While the Patriots are in position to get a rock-solid player with the 17th pick, they might be able to get a franchise-caliber player in the top 10, so let’s take a look at the draft prospects who are the best fit for New England.

Keep in mind, this list doesn’t include Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley, who projects to be much better in the 4-3 than the Pats’ 3-4 scheme, or cornerbacks Patrick Peterson (LSU) or Prince Amukamara (Nebraska) because the Patriots have bigger needs elsewhere.

So, if everything went swimmingly, check out the 10 best fits for the Patriots in the upcoming draft.
