Darnell McDonald has been through quite a journey since his baseball career started in 1997. After spending several years bouncing up and down between the major and minor leagues, McDonald finally found his place to thrive in Boston.

After an offseason of exciting acquisitions, McDonald says he’s thrilled to still be wearing a Red Sox uniform, especially after the bonds made with the team throughout the tough 2010 season.

“I was really hoping that I wouldn’t get a call that something might have changed,” McDonald said of the offseason. “I had so much fun being over here with the group of guys that we have and the teammates we have. Seeing the players that they signed, I was just hoping — just the same way everyone else feels — they want to be a part of it.”
