It's been almost a week since Fernando Torres made his move from Liverpool to Chelsea, but it sure sounds like he still has Anfield on his mind.
FoxSports.com has some of his latest comments, comments that were particulary critical of the ownership group that preceded the new group headlined by John Henry and Fenway Sports Group.
Torres apparently had enough of what the article called two years of "broken promises," and Torres felt that he needed to move on for his best interests.
That's not to say that Torres doesn't think the Reds are heading in the wrong direction. In fact, quite the opposite.
"I think when the new owner, John Henry, came and brought his team with him, the club was moving in the right direction," Torres said. "They have the ambition and they know how to do things and go back to the way they were. It is my opinion, though, that they need time for that. Maybe they need the time while I'm at my best age to play football."
When asked about the backlash that came with his Anfield exit, an exit that included Liverpool supporters burning Torres' jersey, he insisted that he meant no ill will.
"I think 'traitor' makes no sense. I played three good seasons there, left massive money there, lots of goals, good performances. I'm very happy with everything I did there."
Torres gets his first crack at his former club when Liverpool heads to Stamford Bridge for a match with Chelsea on Sunday.
