ESPN.com reported that Burress' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, visited the player and tweeted about the experience.
"[Burress] is doing great! He is running & lifting weights 5 days a week," Rosenhaus tweeted. "He looks in terrific shape."
"We talked at length about his future in the NFL & he…..can't wait to get back on the football field in 2011," Rosenhaus later tweeted. "He is mentally & physically strong right now and is looking forward to the future!"
Former teammate, Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora, also visited Burress this week.
"He looks great. He is lean; he is in good shape. He's focused and he seems happy. I just can't wait for him to come out and I think he is going to have a great impact a la Michael Vick," Umenyiora said.
Burress has not played since Nov. 16, 2008, after being sentenced to prison for shooting himself in the leg with an unliscensed handgun on Nov. 28, 2008.
In 2007, he won the Super Bowl with the New York Giants, during a season in which he had 70 catches, 1025 yards and 12 touchdowns before catching the game-winning Super Bowl pass against the Patriots.
