Ben Roethlisberger, Willie Colon Had a Toenail Growing Competition and 44 Other Things to Know About Super Bowl XLV Two of the most storied franchises in NFL history will take the stage at the largest domed facility on the planet Sunday in Dallas. Here are 45 things you need to know about Super Bowl XLV between the Packers and Steelers.

1. The Packers have not trailed by more than seven points in any game this season, and they’re the first team to accomplish that feat since the 1962 Lions.

2. The Steelers are 6-1 in the Super Bowl and have more Super Bowl wins than any team in NFL history. This will be their eighth Super Bowl appearance, tying the Cowboys for the most all-time.

3. The Packers are 3-1 in the Super Bowl and are tied for the fourth most Super Bowl wins in history.

4. Neither the Packers nor the Steelers played in Dallas this season, but Sunday’s winner will have half as many victories at Cowboys Stadium as the Cowboys, who only won two home games all season.

5. Safety Troy Polamalu, the NFL Defensive Player of the Year, has made a huge impact for Pittsburgh’s defense. In the last two seasons, the Steelers have allowed 21.5 points per game in the 13 games that Polamalu has missed, and they’ve allowed 15.2 points when Polamalu has been in the lineup.

6. Steelers rookie center Maurkice Pouncey has a high left ankle sprain that will likely keep him out of the game and thrust Doug Legursky into the starting role. Pouncey has progressed in interesting fashion this week, though. He had a hard cast Monday, a walking boot Tuesday and no noticeable protection Wednesday.

7. With a win, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will join Joe Montana (four), Terry Bradshaw (four), Troy Aikman (three) and Tom Brady (three) as the only quarterbacks in NFL history with at least three Super Bowl rings. Roethlisberger is one of 10 starting quarterbacks with multiple Super Bowl wins.

8. Aaron Rodgers is trying to become the 29th starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl.

9. Rodgers fell 78 yards shy of becoming the seventh player in NFL history to record three consecutive 4,000-yard seasons, which he would have accomplished if he didn’t miss nearly two full games with a concussion.

10. With added seating, Cowboys Stadium can hold approximately 105,000 fans, including 5,000 at an outdoor party plaza. Super Bowl XIV has the attendance record with 103,985 fans. That game was held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.

11. Roethlisberger and right tackle Willie Colon, who is on injured reserve, once competed to see who had the longest toenails. That nugget is hidden deep down in this feature about Roethlisberger.

12. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will call the game on FOX. This is the third Super Bowl that they’ve teamed up to call (Super Bowls XXXIX and XLII).

13. Kevin Harlan and Boomer Esiason will call the national radio broadcast on Westwood One.

14. Super Bowl XLV will be broadcast in more than 185 countries in 30 different languages.

15. The Packers are the home team and have chosen to wear their home green jerseys. The Steelers will wear their road white jerseys, which they wore during their Super Bowl victories in 2005 and 2008.
