Guatemalan Soccer Club Executive Carlos Noe Gomez Shot to Death After Team Meeting

It's one thing to be upset with your favorite team's front office — then there's what Guatemalan fans may have done to one of their favorite clubs' executives.

Carlos Noe Gomez, the vice president of a Guatemalan soccer club, was shot to death following a recent team meeting. While the investigation is still ongoing, authorities are seeking out a group of individuals who recently threatened the life of Gomez in the wake of the club's poor play, according to Associated Press reports.

The club, Xinabajul, is currently ranked toward the bottom of the Guatemalan national league. In addition to the death threats and murder of Gomez, the team's president, Mauro Rodriguez, also received threats.
