Jared Sulllinger Looking Like Consensus No. 1 Pick for 2011 NBA Draft

Jared Sulllinger Looking Like Consensus No. 1 Pick for 2011 NBA Draft The Cleveland Cavaliers are running away with the title of the NBA's worst team and are showing no signs of improving. They'll likely have the No. 1 pick in June's draft. Waiting for them will likely be an in-state product who will be the consensus No. 1 pick. Sound familiar?

The Cavaliers, who seem like they haven't won a game since October (in reality, they haven't won since Dec. 18, so close enough), will most likely be picking first overall when the draft gets here — assuming the lottery cooperates. If they're smart, they'll use that pick on Ohio State forward Jared Sullinger.

Sullinger, a freshman for the Buckeyes, has taken the nation by storm this season. The Ohio native has been far and away the best player on the nation's best team, and has made an impact since he stepped on campus at Columbus.

If he decides to leave school early (which should become more and more certain with every 20-point, 10-rebound showing), Sullinger would make perfect sense for the rebuilding Cavaliers.

The Cavs could really use help at any position, so Sullinger's position shouldn't matter as much as what he can do on the floor. He's a game-changing type of talent. He's show the ability to score when needed, both attacking the rim, scoring from the paint and even showing off some impressive range for someone standing 6-foot-9 and 286 pounds.

He crashes the boards with reckless abandon, and has shown that he's arguably the nation's best rebounder already. He has a knack for knowing where the ball's going to be, and he's used that instinct to go along with his raw abilities to average a shade under 10 rebounds a contest.

He's turned the Buckeyes into national title contenders. While he may not turn the Cavs — or other bottom-feeders like Minnesota or Sacramento — into contenders overnight, he's still far and away the best choice for teams looking for a cornerstone player in the upcoming draft.
