Jose Canseco Challenges Alex Rodriguez to Home Run Derby, Says Superstar 'Is Used to Backing Away From the Truth' If you're on Twitter and you're not following Jose Canseco, you're really missing out.

Out of nowhere, the former Bash Brother will randomly go off on tirades about how he is some great messenger of truth and that there is simply nobody else like him on the planet.

Tuesday morning was one of those times, as Canseco challenged current Yankee and popcorn enthusiast Alex Rodriguez to a home run competition.

"I could easily hit a softball further than alex rodriguez can [hit] a baseball any day," he wrote. "I am challenging alex rodriguez to a home run competition all the monies will go to charity … alex rodriguez if you are listening to not back away from this challenge … I will understand if you back away from this challenge because you are use to backing away from the truth and not commenting on it."

Canseco did allege in '08 that A-Rod had used steroids, before Rodriguez admitted it to the world, so he may be holding a bit of a grudge.

"[Rodriguez] is exactly what major league baseball stands for he admitted using steroids and got a 300,000,000 dollar contract," Canseco wrote.

Just as you shouldn't hold your breath for a Canseco-Rodriguez derby, don't count on Canseco entering the world of politics any time soon.

"I have no money no friends and hated by millions just because I always tell the truth what does that tell you about our society," Canseco wrote. "I would definitely suck as a politician."

Maybe, Jose, but you're surely an all-star of Twitter.
