Kevin Youkilis: ‘I’m Probably Stronger Than I’ve Been in a Long Time’

Much has been made about the Red Sox’ pricey investments this offseason, but one of the biggest acquisitions may be the “re-acquisition” of Kevin Youkilis.

Youkilis, who is set to return to the Red Sox’ lineup after missing much of the 2010 season with a torn adductor muscle in his thumb, appeared via Skype on Red Sox Hot Stove Live and is looking forward to spring training.

“I’m probably stronger than I’ve been in a long time,” he said. “I feel good. I’m ready to go.”

Youkilis also talked about the transition back over to third base with the offseason pickup of Adrian Gonzalez.

“I’ve always felt like a third baseman playing first base,” Youkilis explained.
