NHL Trade Rumors Live Blog: Blake Wheeler, Mark Stuart Contributing in Atlanta Debuts

5:55 p.m.: Just to add on to that last post, Taylor Hall makes it a hat trick against the Thrashers with a power-play goal to give the Oilers the 4-3 lead.

5:30 p.m.: For the time being, the trade rumors have settled, so why not check up players who have some Bruins ties — some very recent ties.

In their first game since being shipped to Atlanta, both Mark Stuart and Blake Wheeler are making somewhat of an impact for the Thrashers.

Wheeler contributed his first point as a member of the Thrashers — an assist on an Andrew Ladd goal. And Stuart, he's already picked up a fighting major.

On the other side, who has two goals for the Oilers? You guessed — Taylor Hall, the No. 1 overall pick taken just before Tyler Seguin.

The two teams are tied 3-3 in the third.

Former Bruins prospect Joe Colborne also made his debut for the Maple Leafs organization — for the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. He scored a goal in regulation, and then added a shootout goal in a 4-3 win.

3 p.m.: Capitals GM George McPhee is said to be dangling Alex Semin, according to the Toronto Sun.

2:30 p.m.: Zach Bogosian is a name that has continually been run through the rumor mill.

Thrashers GM Rick Dudley responded to the talk on Friday in the Atlanta Journal Constitution:

"People ask me that all the time. I say the same thing. Wayne Gretzky was traded. There are no untouchables that I know of. Certainly not in Atlanta. I'm not actively looking to trade Zach and I don't expect to trade him," he said.

Still, according to HockeyBuzz, the Canadiens and the Devils are interested parties.

12:30 p.m.: Sheldon Souray has been placed on re-entry waivers by Edmonton, as they look to shed salary. The market for defensemen is strong, so it seems as though he could possibly be picked up.

Former Bruin Dennis Wideman could be on the move as well, according to the Florida Sun Sentinel.

12:00 p.m.: After moving Thomas Kaberle, the Maple Leafs may look to let another big name go.

According to the Toronto Sun, Phil Kessel may be available — says a scout close to the situation.

11:20 a.m.: With Mikko Koivu potentially out long-term, the Wild may dip into the trade market for a rent-a-center, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Possible targets could include Jason Arnott and Tim Connolly.

11 a.m.: According to ESPN, the Leafs could be going from sellers to buyers. They certainly have the picks to offer up after all of their transactions, and they may be interested in Edmonton's Dustin Penner.

10:20 a.m: While we were sleeping, the Avalanche and Blues were putting together a blockbuster.

Colorado has sent Kevin Shattenkirk and Chris Stewart to the Blues for former top pick Erik Johnson and Jay McClement. Colorado and St. Louis will also swap picks, with the Avs receiving a first-rounder in 2011 or 2012 for a second-rounder in 2011 or 2012.

10 a.m.: There may be 10 more days before the trade deadline officially closes in the NHL, but there has been plenty of action already, with big names like Thomas Kaberle and Eric Brewer on the move.

Saturday morning's rumor mill has begun with a trade between Carolina and San Jose becoming official.

The deal is actually a set of transactions, sending defenseman Ian White to San Jose for a 2012 second-round pick, while defenseman Derek Joslin will go to Carolina for future considerations.
