Patrice Bergeron Does It All for Bruins, Deserving of 7th Player Award Honor On a hockey rink, there’s not much Patrice Bergeron can’t do.

If you need a playmaker, Bergeron can get it done. If you need someone to win a puck battle in the corner, he can do that, too. He can score from just about anywhere on the ice, and he’s one of the best defensive forwards in the entire game of hockey.

Needless to say, when it comes to voting for the 7th Player Award Presented by Central Auto Group in Norwood and Raynham, Bergeron has to be considered the early favorite.

Still just 25 years old, Bergeron is the second-longest tenured Bruin (Tim Thomas played in four games in 2002-03) and is a leader in the locker room. He appears to finally be fully recovered from the devastating concussion that threatened not only his hockey career but also his general well-being.

This season, he’s clicked with veteran winger Mark Recchi and rookie Brad Marchand, as the trio has paced the B’s offense for much of the season.

Though Bergeron is a native of Quebec, he’s become a part of Boston over the last eight years, and figures to remain a fixture for years to come.
