Albert Pujols' contract is no longer the biggest problem in St. Louis.

According to ESPN, ace Adam Wainwright injured his elbow on Monday, and the injury has been described as "significant."

Cardinals GM John Mozeliak said of the situation: "Things do not look encouraging."

"There's a problem with the ligament," Mozeliak explained. "But it doesn't look good."

Wainwright was the 2010 NL Cy Young runner up, going 20-11 with a 2.42 ERA.
