If Carmelo Anthony ends up being traded to the Knicks, the Nets are setting up a Plan B. They’re going to try to grab a couple of Knicks themselves.

According to ESPN.com, trade talks between the Nets and Nuggets may not die if and when a deal to send Anthony to New York is reached. The Nets may try to burn the Knicks by acquiring a combination of current Knicks center Timofey Mozgov and either Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton or Wilson Chandler, in exchange for two of New Jersey’s first-round picks.

Acquiring Anthony remains the No. 1 goal for the Nets who still believe they have a chance to land the All-Star forward and negotiate an extension with the soon-to-be free agent.
