Orlando Cabrera is an above-average fielder, a .275 hitter and a good clubhouse guy. Despite the fact that he seems like a guy whom 25 teams would covet, he's bounced around to and from five teams in four years. Make that six in five.
The veteran shortstop will sign with the Cleveland Indians, according to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman.
Cabrera played in 123 games last year for the Reds, with his offensive numbers dropping dramatically. He batted .263 (21 points lower than 2009) and slugged .354 (a 35-point drop), and his four homers were his lowest total since 1998, when he was 23 years old.
Cabrera was a Montreal Expo from 1999-2004, when he was traded to the Red Sox. After winning a World Series in Boston, he spent three seasons with the Angels. He played one season for the White Sox and began the '09 season with the A's before getting traded to the Twins.
Aside from 2006, he's been in the postseason every year since 2004 with the Red Sox. Once there, though, he's underwhelmed, batting .228 with one homer and 18 RBIs in 37 games.
