Faced with a massive rebuilding project after parting ways with star striker Edin Dzeko and manager Steve McLaren, Wolfsburg is apparently targeting Liverpool center-back tandem Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel for summer transfers, though neither seems too keen on the move.

According to the Guardian, Woflsburg would be willing to spend £9 million on Agger, but the Danish international, who is under contract until 2014, recently committed his future to Anfield following an unsettled period earlier in the winter.

Agger also praised new manager Kenny Dalglish in Tuesday's Chester Chronicle, saying "You have to look at the team which is exactly the same [as under Roy Hodgson]. Kenny came in with new ideas, and they made us really happy about playing football."

For Skrtel, Wolfsburg is apparently interested in spending in the £5 million range, but the Slovakian international is no more interested in an exit than his Danish counterpart.

"I have learned about the interest of Wolfsburg only from the Internet and don't even know how true this news is," Skrtel told Sky Sports.

"One thing is for sure, though — I have a valid contract with Liverpool, I am happy there and if they are happy with me, too, I am not going anywhere."

Skrtel has a long-term contract, for another three and a half years, to be exact.

Liverpool management, though, has been rumored to be pursuing additional center back options in the summer, including Agger's Denmark teammate Simon Kjaer, who himself plays for Wolfsburg.
